That's strange, because I'm not getting the same effect with the carousel on my O2. Did you have to enable the feature somewhere?

no i didn't really do anything special. I remember it being laggy at some point, then after a bit of use it fixed itself. It could have been also CanKage openGL 0.26 that helped but i know i did a hard reset after i installed that and it still worked so i dunno

Found the solution here: You need to hack registry of SPB to enable Gsenser for carousel

Change the values as bellow:
HKLM\\Software\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\GI\GIEnabled =1
HKLM\\Software\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\GI\SelectorScene\ Gsensor = 1 Reflections =1

HKLM\\Software\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\GI\GIEnabled =1
HKLM\\Software\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\GI\SelectorScene\ Gsensor = 1 Reflections =1

Hope this will help ya....

Thanks, N-S, for the info. Actually, it did not work for me with 3.5.0; however, I upgraded to 3.5.3 and it works well.

Yes, it's work in 3D but when I tilt the phone nothing change (G-sensor?)

After playing with this for a little while, the carousel does tilt but it's very laggy - and the battery life seems to go much sooner than before hand.

To be honest, I find that this 3D carousel is really nothing exciting and doesn't really have a functional purpose.

<_< Uh, yeah, ya think?

Folks, that's the magic here. Note that the video is from.... drum roll please... GINKAGE!!!!

To get that sort of smooth 3D performance, you need to install Ginkage's accelerated OpenGL library, make the reg changes listed in this thread (it varies depending on which version of MS3 you've got -- 3.5.3 has 3D support for Omnia).

The key here is the accelerated 3D lib, however!

This is absolutely right! I missed the fact that the video is from GINKAGE - as I'm sure a few others did. Anyway, I've installed the CAB, and made the proper reg edits and my
G Sensor works so much better now - especially with MS 3.5.3! One thing to note from the Chainfire post is that it mentions to set the CPU performance to high; however, I've mine set to AUTO and it works well anyway. Despite all of this, it's still a gimmick, albeit a cooler one now.

Thanks for the "shocking" revelation dwallersv.

Hi,

I'm using B7610 (Omnia Pro-Qwerty), installed the cab and tried with SPB 3.5.3, but even after soft reset and all reg adjustments, it' still very laggy (carousel), and GSensor doesn't work too. Change power management to High can only improve very little.
Hope any one could help me out!

Thanks a lot in advance.

i have installed OpenGLESv1 by Ginkage, but Carousel in SPB 3.5.3 (build 9885) doesn't work anyway (works ... but no smooth at all). It behaves the same way, when i uninstall gl library. Carousel in "favourite contacts" works well.
I have i8000 (XXIJ3). Should I try flash to JB1 (feb 2010)? Or any other suggestion? Thx

I installed the cab and made the registry changes. Everything appears good, but it will not let me select any panels while in the carousel. SOft reset didn't help.
