Hi all,

Recently I loaded a custom ROM on my Omnia i910. One of the things that bugged me was the garish WM6.5 splash screen the chef decided to include.

I found a suitable replacement on the Internet, modified it for WM6.5 and then replaced the file on my Omnia, but have a question that I couldn't find an answer for.

The only file on my Omnia was called welcomehead.96.png. However, I have seen references to three different files (welcomehead.96.png, welcomehead.128.png and welcomehead.192.png). What, exactly, is supposed to be the difference between the files?

Also, I've seen some people say that you should have a square graphic to cover the phone booting in Landscape mode. Can the Omnia even do that?

Thanks!

Robert

Omnia uses welcomehead.96.png... 128 and 192 are for different higher resolutions. <_<

Yes, indeed. So, how our friend is talkin' about for those resolutions too??? Where did he find these extra files?
I never found such extra files for the "splash" screen...

Thanks Steff! To clarify, the other files were not located on my Omnia. I just ran into references to different files in different threads when I was looking to replace my Windows splash screen.

What's kind of funny is that the original one was 32bit color, but I noticed the new file I have is only 24bit color depth, so I saved nearly 100k off the file size compared to what was installed. It's a shame that didn't translate into memory being used, only storage space.

I actually never personally saw them on a device. I found the names through Google searches for the word "Welcomehead" with no number behind it in the search.
