Does 6.5.5 fix any bugs over 6.5?
Are there any new features or is it just UI changes?

I don't like 1 thing about WM 6.5.x, the bounce-back effect at the end of a list is turned off. If 6.5.x would incorporate this function in the near future it will be awesome.
From my experience 6.5.x seems faster than 6.5 (Xperia X1 user).
6.5.5 has threaded e-mail while 6.5.3 doesn't (the only difference I've observed)

Cheers!

think of it this way:

6.1 <=> Windows XP
6.5 <=> Windows Vista
6.5.x <=> Windows 7

Good analogy, but you forgot one...

6.1 <=> Windows XP
6.5 <=> Windows Vista
6.5.x <=> Windows 7
Series 7 <=> iPhone

6.5.3->
Other noteworthy function improvements are toward the TouchPlayer and Camera.

-TouchPlayer:

Can finally delete item(s) off the playlist/archive.
Can finally browse for individual files, however, it'll load the whole folder if it contains additional playable content.
Further full/extended screen (fill screen) video playback function.
Additional Volume level control up to 15Ls, previously was cap at 10.

Still no support for video resolution higher than 720x480.
Still no support for video filesize greater than 2GB.

-Camera:

Just a lot more effect funtions

I haven't try 6.5.5 yet. I'm interested in what are the changes as well. Especially if there are any additional improvements toward TouchPlayer.

I'm using a Omnia II I8000L (Bell Mobility) WiMo 6.5.0 -> WiMo 6.5.3 and definitely see a performance boost in my experience from the upgrade. Enjoying my phone much more now.

WM 6.5 is much more stable than 6.5x...after flashing with official JD3 , I had to go back to JD6 (which is WM6.5) after 3 days only and Iam happy with it....

Honestly, i use spb ms so I think i'll be sticking to 6.1 for my i910.
But we'll see, some of the newer roms coming out are promising.

6.5.3

Ease of Use features

* Capacitive touchscreen support
* Platform to enable multitouch
* Touch controls throughout system (no need for stylus)
* Consistent Navigation
* Horizontal scroll bar replaces tabs (think settings>system>about
screen)
* Magnifier brings touch support to legacy applications
* Simplified out-of-box experience with fewer steps
* Drag and drop icons on Start Screen

IE Browser Performance

* Page load time decreased
* Memory management improved
* Pan & flick gestures smoothed
* Zoom & rotation speed increased

Quality and Customer Satisfaction features

* Updated runtime tools (.NET CF 3.5, SQL CE 3.1)
* Arabic read/write document support
* Watson (error reporting) improvements and bug fixes

Then beyond those updates the stock Samsung apps have been updated

- Samsung WidgetPlus is now smoother and naively works on 6.5.3 no longer refreshes the widgets when jumping between each page and motion is fluid and smooth.
- New Media Player, re-design with big and clear cover display (Similar with JC2) with better volume control at left side volume button.
- New Photo app as now it allow you to deselect folder you don't want to be display.
- Re-skin the calculator, must more better color than JC2.
- Re-skin of Samsung Keyboard which now suite better with theme and dialpad.
- New incoming call screen when device is unlock.
- New Opera Mobile 9.7 preloaded.
- More RAM available.
- No issues displaying asian language.
- Samsung Main Menu & Cube 3D removed.
- Larger Indicator has been remove and replace with default WM 6.5.3 one.

6.5.5 is more orless a compilation of a bunch of minor refinements over 6.5.3. The whole 6.5.X series we had for awhile before.

6.6 will be to 6.5.5 what 6.5.5 was to 6.5, that is, not a major retooling but just bringing stuff up to spec with the general UX paradigm (touch/capacative friendly)

Remember that 6.6 is intended for a parallel release with WP7 so we're still a ways off from it. It will likely just 'creep into being' like the 6.5.x series did.
