Hi Friends,

I've been planning to release some sort of a beginner's guide to rom cooking, ever since I started reading up on the topic (and cooking my own roms, of course).

Here's a guide on cooking with Visual Kitchen which I've put together, hope it will be of help to all aspiring chefs  .

There's tons of resources here in Modaco - the search feature and Google are your best buddies if you need help. If you're stuck, feel free to post some questions here. Perhaps this thread can evolve into a general Q&A thread on the topic of cooking, where everyone can contribute their advice regardless of which kitchen they use.

More Tutorials (Highly recommended!)

Shokka's rom building guide
Sector's WM6.5 cooking guide
Vistang Visual Kitchen thread Lots of tips and tricks <_<

From Google: "Impossible to find the specified precursor"
Seems you have missing SYS files, try unzipping my 22004 SYS to the base of the kitchen

Aha, yup you just need to move and rename some folders.
Firstly cut and paste the OEM folder inside DXID OEM into the base of your kitchen. There should be a empty OEM folder there, overwrite it.
Next, from the 25007 folder, move both ROM and SYS folders to the base of your kitchen, overwriting the existing ones.

Do you get your SYS from the Visual Kitchen thread? If not, try one of the builds from there.
And try building without the EXT to see if it works. All the best!

Hi ock,

first of all thanks for your efforts for publishing the essence of rom cooking!

I have though a question - maybe I did not recognize something. But, how to test cooked roms before falshing & bricking THE OMNIA....? :P

Thanks,
Árgyélus
