Hello all,

first of all i really am amazed to see all of the people who contribute to this forum, i just came across it today and i am a great fan.

I have the following problem with my omnia i900.

1. Phone turns on and stucks at the welcome screen displaying samsung omnia.
2. does not detects to grandprix
3. does not detects to rom upgrade exe file.

I am using xp, i have activesync 4.5, and i did install the samsung modem driver. i flashed another omnia with the .exe updator, and it was 100% successful. so the pc is good.

can you experts help me.
I cannot get this phone to detect to grandprix it its current condition. what should i do.

what i am trying to do is: upgrade to DXIA2 rom, i have the binary files for loader, pda, csc, and phone.

really anticipating help from the experts.

i can also be reached at aaqib_khan@yahoo.com

Don't close and re-open if it fails to recognise, keep restarting the phone with the stylus from the restart button. It will detect, it just takes some patience and time. I'll write up proper instructions if it still doesn't work.

Merry Christmas

thanks Billus...

Merry Christmas to you as well.
I will try as you guided to keep reseting the phone.

I have another omnia, I successfully flashed it with grandprix, as well as a direct run exe file.

Billus!

I have tried to keep resetting my omnia with different intervals and combinations..after selecting all the proper files in grandprix... but the phone wont get detected at all.

I must tell you that the only workign button is the power button which only turns on the phone...

resets button works...

but no other button has any effect on the phone...

Help and guidance is anxiously awaited and will be highly appreciated..

Merry Xmas... to all

kevin the problem is that the phone is not being detected at all by either grandprix or exe setup.
i have tried a lot with grandprix.. i will try exe as well..

but as far as myknowledge is, my phone is stuck at boot, and it needs a new PDA binary or all binaries by grandprix, exe setup will not detect it...i may be incorrect

First make sure you still see the welcome screen, then reinstall samsung driver, connect phone to computer, turn off phone - run grandpix - press detect - turn on the phone ! It should be fine !

Hi there, i am having the same problem. I have flashed my phone probably a dozen times with no problems. I use GrandPrix and am running windows 7 and have never had a problem. But since flashing a fortnight ago my phone freezes at the Omnia screen when trying to flash.

I have reinstalled device drivers
I have restarted the device heaps while waiting for device

The phone still works fine, but i just cant flash it. Which sucks because i always run KC's roms and changed to steff's M2Dv2 rom to check it out, but ifind it heeeeeeeeaps slower than KC's. But now im stuck and cant flash back.

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Have you tried to hard reset your omnia before flashing?

Yes thats a habit of mine, i make sure i do that. I hard reset the device memory only not the storage card but that shouldnt affect the ROM i wouldnt think. Anything else?

Thank you Santix! I had every confidence in my Windows 7 machine because i have done it so many times before, however in this case as soon as i setup my old XP machine and ran the updater... it worked!! Might be fine to flash from my Win 7 again now, but good to know if it doesnt work i can resort back to the other machine.

Thanks again.

Hi, were you able to fix the problem. I also just had (today) same problem and don't know what to do. I have read somewhere that the only way to fix this is to go to samsung but I still hope that there is another solution. My phone is stuck at the omnia welcome screen and can't be detected by grandprix or the exe files.
