"Fulfilling our vision of providing the best Internet experience on any device."

Quite a claim, but how does Opera Mobile 10 beta measure up?

The new version includes tabbed browsing, improved password management, image saving, Opera Turbo, smooth surfing, a speed dial feature, keypad or touchscreen navigation and many other features.

First impressions are it's smooth, it's fast and reminds me of the Opera Mini 5 beta!

What are you waiting for?

Get it from the Opera website, m.opera.com/mobile from your mobile browser or see it in action.

Put it on my HD2. Landscape doesn't work, neither does multi-touch. Their video on the Opera 10 shows a setting for landscape view that isn't in mine, but they also say devices that support it should work. Opera 9 was fine.

Hey can anyone tell me if I install this on my touch diamond

1. Will it replace the built-in Opera 9.5? (the shortcut in Tf3d as well?)
2. Will the screen rotate using the orientation sensor

1. Didn't on my Diamond, TF3D still goes to the old opera, so they're both available
2. Didn't rotate automatically, but there is a landscape option in the settings menu

Getting the odd random crash, but so far so good. I'm using it now to write this!

I am loving the new opera! Very intuitive and has really brought some extra usefulness to my omnia!

It's pretty easy to get Opera 10 to rotate on the HD2

Add a string

Named Opera10
Value OM10-ML-MainWndClass

to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList

Tbh I've not missed the pinchzoom enough yet to bother getting it working

Runs smooooth on my omnia and the auto rotation works fine. It's all perfect and pretty, oh and quite fast.

The only bad thing is the lack of a flash plug in that works with this version. or am i wrong? is there one already?

Taken from the download page, not sure if its a definitive list though:

Opera Mobile 10 beta works on both Classic and Professional editions of Windows Mobile 6.5, Windows Mobile 6.1, Windows Mobile 6.0 and on Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC.

Ok, tried this on my Samsung i600 with WM5 for Smartphones and it installs fine, loads fine but doesn't get past the disclaimer screen as the soft keys do nothing and moving the cursor to the buttons to accept the disclaimer and "make something happen" yields no results.

Will have to either upgrade to WM6 standard or stick to using MIDLET Managers with Opera Mini.

Damn you Opera Mobile 10 BETA!

Runs much slower than IE on my device (ACER s200) - waiting for pixellated graphics and chequered areas to fill. Finding IE considerbaly smoother and faster.
