Hi.

Please , I already have searched here and I only found THIS topic about cards. On this thread, Omnia II is compatible with class 6 microSD.

Unfortunately, my device didn't recognize it (THIS is the microsd model). It wasn't recognized on Mac and HTC Advantage either. It was recognized on WinXP (SP3), but veeeery sloooowww...

Has someone know something about it?  :)

Thanks.

Omnia ROM:

PDA: I8000XXIG6

CSC: I8000FAMIG6

My Trascend 16gb class 6 works fine in my Omnia2.
Guess you have a defective card? (as it also doesn't work well on your Mac/PC/HTC)

I think so... The microsd adapter is fine. I have tested with other miscrosd card.
I'll try to format the card on PC, cos it is the only device that recognize it (slow, but recognize).
Anyway, thanks. :)

[update]: unfortunately, the microsd is FINE (yep, fine)...
I have tested with my Photo Cam (Panasonic Lumix) and it worked like a charm (even to format).
I am trying to format on PC (with prompt) but no sucess at now.

[update2]: now, WORKS!!!
What I did:

1. Put the microsd on Lumix -> Select "Format: on Cam's menu -> Done.
2. Connect Camera (with card into it) to Mac and select "USB mode" (not PictureBridge) -> Send some .mp3s, .pdfs, .docs etc. to microsd-> Disconnect -> Remove microSD.
3. Put card on Omnia II.
4. Done! Works like a pretty charm. :)

I don't know whats happened, but this hack works.

What happened is that the MicroSD card was not formatted in the proper MicroSD specs. The internal layout is different when compared to magnetic drives (e.g. HDD). This causes some bad effects like:-
1. Slow reading
2. Memory corruption
3. Card not detecting.

When you formatted your MicroSD card in Lumix, it formats it back to follow the original MicroSD specifications. Actually there is a software for PC which formats the SD card back to official SD requirements.

* Ignore the card compatibility list. The app is from Panasonic but it is actual universal

SD Formatter
This software formats all SD memory cards and SDHC memory cards using a formatting program that complies with official SD memory card requirements. SD formatting provides quick and easy access to your SD memory card. This program may only be used on Windows® 2000, Windows® XP and Windows® Vista®.

SD or SDHC memory card file systems formatted with generic operating system formatting software do not comply with official SD memory card requirements and optimum performance may not be experienced.

I have similar problem with SANDISK 8GB Class 6 MicroSD card - takes a few seconds to save one photo, but subsequent photos take circa 3 minutes to save and phone is locked up for duration. I tried formating with Start/Settings/Memory/Storage Card - Format, but that doesn't help - is this not a proper format? (I must admit it seems way too fast to be actually formating) Interesting to note that I cannot format the Storage Card via Resco Explorer's Format so I will try the software you mention, but SS/M$ should sort this out so you can format correctly natively aye!

I note though, that neither app is for WM :-( so I will have to find/buy an adapter/reader for my PC :-(

...thanks
