Hello

I was just curious if anybody here has a screen protector on their omnia. I had an iphone SP i got from walmart and had to cut to fit my omnia but it fell off a few days ago after removing phone from my pocket.

I was browsing a few SPs and found these two sites and was wondering if anybody has any experience with either one.

The first i found was here:
http://shop.brando.com.hk/bw-ultraclear-ce...2c0917d011.html
The second i found was here:
http://www.ppctechs.com/Select-Device_M21/...select_unit.htm

The first, brando brand SP is cheaper and the WriteSHIELD is a few dollars more expensive. I'm assuming that either one will have sharp corners that will catch on everything and eventually fall off as they each have a weak adheasive.

I already have one small vertical scratch on my screen but dont want it to get destroyed. What do you guys do to keep your phone touch screens from getting ruined?

Mate I think the Brando screen protectors are to dear. Not sure about the WriteSHIELD as have not used it.
The one's I have used I bought off ebay Australia and they work fine, stay on and you can push air bubbles out if you get them when you install.
I have had my omnia now for about 4 or 5 months with only 1 change of screen protector and that is because I had a mirror finish installed and while it looked good it was not suitable for outside in the sunlight.

So you could try here USA ebay at $2.95 for three http://cgi.ebay.com/3X-Clear-SCREEN-PROTEC...93%3A1|294%3A50

Regards Brendan

I have ad an Invisible shield on my omnia for about 7 months now and it is still perfect (or as close to it as it was when I did a terrible job installing it :D)

The only real problem I have with it is that it adds a huge amount of friction to the screen so when you are sliding your finger around it tends to 'stick' to it. It takes a bit to get used to.

i use them, would NOT live without them.

I buy one every month for £5.00. they are of varying quality, but generally the same.

I would hate to scratch my beloved screen!!

My brother had one on his. Quite frankly I hated it. The touch sensitivity seems much less than mine without, and I've droped my omnia probably 20 times onto gravel, concrete, roads, carpets, wood, etc, and don't have any scratches on the screen, only around the edges. I also use a mechanical pencil as a stylus from time to time, again with no scratches :D

Buy me a drink if I helped you out. :)

In my opinion, screen protectors are a must have! You should be able to find some decent ones on Amazon - at least I can here in Germany. Earlier in the year - in good old sunny California - I had also bought some at a Sprint Store in Redlands, Ca. They were cheap, but the package was plentiful. I must warn you that they were also difficult to put on because they literally stuck to the screen which trapped a lot of air... which wasn't so easy to remove.

So pretty much any screen protector is better than nothing? Yea, i also noticed that a SP will affect touch sensitivity, but at most it is minimal.

So i guess i'll just pick one at random between writeshield and brando. I'm thinking WriteSHIELD is better. I had an invisible shield on another phone i had but they seem to have a rubbery finish. This finish with a stylus would seem to suck as the stylus needs to glyde over without much effort.

Don't bite those cheapy off the corner screen street screen protectors, for you just might end up buying a new one. so that't twice the spending for you.

That's speaking from experience.
I used to have a screen protector from one of the mall shops.
It was fine at first, but ticking the same point over and over (like the exit button) scratched and made made the protector blurry at that point. And it easily scratches.

Now i use Zagg Invisibleshield.
Right, your fingers sometimes doesn't slide smoothly on the screen but its no issue for me.
The main concern is to protect the screen, and its a full body cover so it protects the whole phone as well.
Adds a good grip to the phone too.

If it lives up to the hype (military grade, unscratcheable, unbreakeable and all), i think i'm sticking with it.
A little costly, but considering the value of your Omnia, its worth it!!

Umm I have a 5$ discount for every purchase at zagg so just tell me if you want the code. It's not much but it's better than nothing.

I vote for Invisible Shield!
Pros:
- seems to provide very good security to the screen and other parts
- improves grip
- perfect support (I have installed the first one not correctly and they've sent me another one free!)

Cons:
- installation is bloody pain in the arse
- price(always look for coupons!)
- finger does not slide so easily as before

About touchscreen sensitivity - I have changed these values to lower after installing the invisibleShield and it is still quite good:
[ H K E Y _ L O C A L _ M A C H I N E \ \ H A R D W A R E \ D E V I C E M A P \ T O U C H ]
” C l i c k ”
” D o w n U p ”

Hi illusion786
I saw that you have a mirror screen protector. Can you please tell me how is the visibility and touch response after you applied this screen protector? Thank you very much. Good day.

I use the pocket solutions screen protectors and clear plastic case. They are very good I got several months of usage out of the first one I used. They stay in place very well and are easy to apply. They also seem to heal if you really put a mark on it.

I like invisible shield, but it reduces the sensitivity due to friction, its almost like you have to poke a hole through it to get the phone to respond.

Had a Martin Fields screen protector for few months on my omnia -- it did suffer scratches.

Bought an Exim one from ebay which is clearer and more responsive - all for a 1/3 of the price compared to Martin Fields one. Had to trim the Exim one a small bit, but was quick and easy to apply.
