Hi all, I've been trying for a few days to 'fix' my Omnia wifi, with not much luck. I'm running windows mobile 6.1.

1) I flashed the latest firmware DXIA5/DZIA5 (phone is DXIA2)
2) installed SKTools and changed WLAN 802.11g support to 'Yes'
3) set the networks under Connections > Connections > Advanced > Select Networks to both "My work network", and changed both their Proxy Settings to "This network connects to the Internet", unchecking "This network uses a proxy server..."

I am occasionally able to connect to a certain wifi signal (with one green bar) and surf for a bit, but the connection is very spotty. By contrast, my iphone 3G connects to the same wifi signal with zero problems. Is there a way to boost the wifi signal strength of the omnia through a registry setting? Any suggestions?

u have to check the broadcasting channels on the router, it has to be changed to manual and broadcasting on either channels 5,11, 12,13 preferably.
omnia is known to be somewhat incompatible with some routers....but is way better that the iphone or even the new iphone 3GS as a whole.
:D

My i didn't know that. Now I know why I had so much problems because my phone didn't connect to wifi (i usually use channel 6).

★ Device 1: Samsung Galaxy S2 ☆ Android Version: 2.3 ★
★ Device 2: ACER Iconia A500 tablet PC ☆ Android Version: 3.1 ☆ OS: My personal HC rom based on Stock 3.1 HC ★

me neither, but after sending several emails to samsung support and having long arguments with my internet provider,, they finally told me the real reasons why i had trouble with wifi and omnia.. my internet provder was reluctant to unlock the settings of the modem they provided me,, but could finally do it on my own and could verify that these changes in the setings actually make a big difference.
the channels should be set manually and this will cause the bandwidth allocated to the omnia turn from 5 mpbs to 54 mpbs.
