Im on an i910 running the leaked rom (no modifications or cooking) I downloaded it from my phone using pocket ie (i assumed it needed the line in the user agent string that identifys my phone to give me the right cab)
it works fine for me no issues i can see except i cant get it to work with google maps but iv only been playing with it for a few min.
Ill let you guys know if i figure something out

one thing I dont really like is that it uses an embeded pocket ie for my searches :D this is fine if i just want the weather or the deffinition of a word or some other arbitrary something that i can see easily in the resluts but if i want to use it to acctually browse i want an option to lauch my default browser (iris).

oh one more thing for those having difficuly it seems you HAVE to set it to the one press main menu button to work correctly. it might also work with the cam button I dont know i didnt test that but it doesnt like being put on a long press.

So I guess it's 6.5 that's causing the problems?

Buy me a drink if I helped you out. :)

Wouldn't say that. Seems to be a number of posts regarding 6.1 setup problems.

Not liking this program at ALL. It needs an active internet connection which atm, especially in Australia, is almost un-affordable (pre-paid), especially for a uni student (we're looking at around $70 for 100mb, on pre-paid at least but it's slightly cheaper if on a plan). Plus, there would be quite a battery drain running an internet connection 24/7 would there not?

More interested in that TellMe program from Microsoft. Looks good imo.

Btw, try it at least. It might suit your needs. Don't just take my word for it cause I only spent around 10-20 minutes playing with it).

Dude I'm with 3, and I pay an extra $8/month on top of my cap (its the same for plan or prepaid) and I get 100mb... 3 also has $5 or $12 data plans, but if you're paying $70 you're getting ripped off...

Nah, I skip the internet in my plan. Vodafones got new price listings atm; $2 per mb as opposed to the 1c per kb. Telstra costs around $70 for 100mb but that includes calls/texts etc but that's way too much for me right now. Vodafone doesn't offer any additional internet package unless your on a plan (whereby it costs $10 for 100mb). Anyhow, I'm trying to spend less on my phone usage (keeping the tab under $30/month).

How do you find 3's network coverage btw (not being a jerk, just curious) cause the only reason I don't use 3 is because my mates can't seem to find any reception outta Brisbane. Vodafone is OK but does drop out at some points and doesn't offer 3g everywhere. Telstra has the best coverage (esp. 3g) and usually gives 100% signal but it costs alot. Anyway, just my 0.02c. I'm the middle man.

:D man you Aussies get screwed when it comes to acessing the internet huh?
I head horror stories about your standard lan ISP's too.
I trully feel sorry for you I complain about verizion with their S#!% customor support but at least they make up for it with unlimited data plans and amazing 3g coverage

Yea we do get a rough deal in some aspects, BUT it's not a provider based system - ie. an Omnia can work on any network, its not stuck on Verizon or whatever and called i910 lol. As for 3's coverage - it's fine. I get 3G all over the Gold Coast, and every major city - and the thing ppl dont realise is that when u leave a 3 covered area, it just hops onto another network (I think it's Telstra) - but it doesn't cost any more. I go out west (to Roma) on a regular basis and out there i get full reception, just not 3G. Ive been with em for about 5 or 6 yrs. Just dont call their service centre - its in India and you cant understand a word they say lol

Edit: Oh and yeah telstra has good NextG coverage... but it costs double-ish for the same call allowance...

I use a custom 6.1 ROM and I'm unable to pass the setup screen. It seems the button does not work.

It doesn't seem to work on custom 6.1 ROM either. Not sure what they have it looking for but it just doesn't have what it needs.

Im using this now on the CC20 leaked rom. I first installed it to My Storage, and I was getting the error where it kept saying that my menu button wasnt mapped. When I reinstalled it on my device, it is working. Unfortunately, I only got to use it one time because I am in my room and I have no signal here. Tomorrow I will be able to try it out more, but just to clarify a couple of things for anyone who wants to try it:

-like someone stated before, must be installed on Device memory (if I hadnt seen that post, I wouldnt have known, so thank you!)

- also stated before, your browser must be set to be detected as handheld device in order to download the program from their site

- not sure what cooked roms this works on, but the leaked beta rom, the CC20, it does work on

BTW, I have an I910 with verizon

I can get the CAB to install, but during set up it wants to assign Vlingo to the main menu button, I did that, and left main menu hold blank, because you can't assign the same program to both main menu and main menu hold. How can I change main menu hold to another button, volume up, so I have only one main menu button option? Thsi is preventing me from going any further with the install.

I don't think you can assign it to another button in the way you described. The problem here isn't with which button you use, it's just that the Vlingo software isn't recognizing the button presses, regardless of which button you map it to. It's an API or other programmatic issue with the VLingo software. We just have to wait for them to fix it and release a newer version.

I'm using Adrynalyne's 6.1 rom, my VZW I910 Samsung Omnia, and got the Vlingo .cab file off the internet explorer from my device from Vlingo's site. I've installed it directly to my device! I've gone through the tutorial... AND now I can push the upper right key after setting it and use Vlingo! I just wish I could have set it to the main menu hold not the main menu. (just me)

SCORE ONE TO ME ~PLUR~ Peace Love Unity Respect :)
