Update Windows Mobile 6.1 for SamSung I600

Get these runtimes and install on your PC (Windows XP & Vista): vcredist_x86.exe and NetCF 2.0

1) Connect your phone to the PC, and Sync,

2) After complete synchronization, turn off the phone.

3) To create a directory RomUpdate PC and copy it to WM6.1 - file pda.bin and WCEDownloader_v1[1].1Single.exe

4) Run program WCEDownloader:

In the PDA



Select file pda.bin





5) Move in the BL with the phone connected to a PC.

Waits to see moments in the main window, running the program on the PC:

[StartDownload => 0] StartDownload!
 [PDA] Connect and Power-on the Device.
 [PDA-0] Driver Opened.
 [PDA] Read Wait. = [0]
 [PDA] Read Done. = [0]
 [PDA] Device Found. = [0]

When this is possible after the above steps click Start Download

Wait about 15-20 minutes, and our Smart should now restart automatically.

I just flashed this rom on a uk based i600, and now the phone does not get past the first screen (before even getting into win mobile) any ideas?

Hi,

Ive also been trying the WS 6.1 Rom , but had the same problem when rebooting not getting past the first screen (Ultra messaging) Ive loaded WM6.o fisrt and then WM6.1.

Any ideas?

Is this safe to upgrade? Really like to upgrae but no sure is this safe?

I've just installed this release on my I600 phone and now I can't lock the device with red key, power button only shuts down the phone (there are no profiles) and I can't anymore make calls, green button is not working!!!!!. I've rolled back to WM6 and WM5 and I have same problems, so my phone is fu*ed.
My recommendation is DON´T INSTALL THIS RELEASE ON YOUR PHONES.

Ok i loaded the wm6.5 on The samsung i600 Most of the Software works Great but i found a few bugs
1 . The Internet Sharing Feature does not work - Failure to detect USB
2 . The Symbols button does not work
3 . The Date Feature Does not allow you to setup Automatic

Hope these features can be corrected ASAP, I love the 6.5 interface' Urgently need is the Internet Sharing feature, this is need for me and many other to connect to the internet via phone using our laptops where there is no WIFi signal and the Symbols button so to use under score and other symbols etc .
