Hi guys,
My second cooked ROM...

It's WM6.1 (20270) based on DXID1, english version, without Chinese Input.

Like I said in my first release, this can be considered an "intelligent ROM", with some good improvements and all the original applications.

###############################

Version: SK002 (26-may-2009)
Free Disk Space: 84mb

I recommend to update using Windows XP.

Download: SK002 DXID1 2605_5.7z.exe
(Compressed '92mb' EXE file , hosted in EASYSHARE)

###############################

SK002 DXID1 2605_5 -> Means: s0cks ROM version 2 | DXID1 | 26 may | build 5

###############################

Some improvements of DXID1:
[SOLVED] Java crash when running programs with sound
[SOLVED] The SamsungWidgets doesn't show the Notification Widget when a call (or sms, email) is missed

Changes made in SK002:
- Updated GPS XTRA to a newer version (with option to download via WiFi) and added new servers to download XTRA.bin
- Original Samsung Theme 2 is back, without changes
- Removed Batti 2.4 (due to big CPU usage)
- Removed Mobile Autostart Manager 1.2 (useless)
- FrontCamera no longer exists in Settings Menu
- Added CleanRAM 1.3.6 (in Settings Menu)

###############################

Installed:
+ FlashLite 3.1
+ .NET CF 3.5
+ Adobe Reader LE 2.5
+ Google Maps 3.0
+ Pocket RAR 3.8
+ Advanced Config 3.3
+ Clear Temp 1.2.1
+ Mobile Autostart Manager 1.2
+ Ilium Screen Capture 1.1
+ File Explorer Extension 2.05
+ FdcSoft TaskManager 3.1
+ SIPChange (Keyboard Input)
+ HTCEmu 0.7
+ Batti 2.4
+ CleanRAM 1.3.6

Removed:
- FlashLite 2.1
- .NET CF 2.0
- Connected Home
- Welcome Center
- DivX Registration
- Google Launcher
- Google Maps 2.1
- SampleMusic, Ringtones, Wallpapers, Theme Files
- Useless/Test Files
- Mouse Pointers
- Some online Widgets from SamsungOnlineWidgets

Modified:
* Samsung Theme
* Samsung Online Widgets working with FlashLite 3.1
* Really Removed DivX Registration from Control Panel (Replaced by Front Camera Test) -> Front Camera is only for TURN ON camera. It doesn't work like a camera to take pictures. -> Now I'm using Clean RAM in DivXReg place.
* Small visual change in Launcher Skin
* Some Registry improvements:
++ GPS/XTRA updated with WiFi download option
++ Increased Cache, File System, Icons speed loading and Memory
++ Increased Touch Sensitivity
++ Align Screen disabled at startup (if you need to realign the screen, just do it at Settings Menu)
++ Disabled Shutdown when 20% battery power left (Windows Live Messenger + Streaming Player)
++ Disabled Error Reporting
++ Disabled Customer Feedback (and removed from Control Panel)
++ Disabled Windows Default Keyboard as a SIP
++ Calendar Month View as Default
++ Opera and IE Cache moved to \My Storage
++ Disabled the sound of Keyboard Phone (Phone Dial) when touched

Known Issues:
- Opera: When playing a flash video and the fullscreen is enabled, it stops. You need to tap, hold on the screen video and click on About FlashLite and then press OK to see the video playing again.

Congrats!

What about the two bugs present in the factory IA5 ROM?

1. The Java engine crashes if you try to run an applet with sound enabled (without voice the appplets run well).

2. The 'new SMS / mail / missed call' widget shows up only once after soft reset, then stops working until the next soft reset.

Are they corrected or still present?

Thanks,

Tibor

BRAVO for your work. I am going to install it. Why you put as phone part the DXIA2? Is it better than DXIA5?

Unfortunately it's only the Front Camera Test. I don't know any application to work with it...
It's working only like a "mirror"... but maybe in the future versions of this ROM I can put another app there...

And I have a cab to front camera. But it's only used for who removed DivX Registration and still get the "dead" icon at control panel.
If you are in this situation, please read this topic.

Sorry, but I didn't fix it.
Maybe in the next releases of this ROM I can include a fix for the problem 1.

About problem 2... for now, there is no solution...
According to my tests, the Widget popup sometimes when I miss a call. But not always! (weird thing)
I will try to compare the old Widget with the Online Widget to see differences... but it's not simple...

Thanks.

I used DXIA2 because it's really official. Nobody can confirm how real is DXIA5.
For me, DXIA5 is the same. And you only get DXIA5 from unofficial sites.
So, in this case I prefer to use the original one. :(
I hope you understand. And don't think that you are outdated using this ROM... because you are not! :(

Thanks.

Are you talking about the FINGER MOUSE? Yes, it is included and working! Like the original ROM!

I noticed today that Batti (the top screen battery indicator) is eating some CPU %...
Sometimes it consumes 0.8% but varies until 20%... B)

If you are experiencing lag problems, I recommend to disable Batti at startup...
It's simple... just open your File Explorer and go to \ Windows \ Startup...
And remove Batti.lnk.

Next, soft-reset and the Batti is "gone".

But, if you want to remove it completely, just erase the folder Batti inside \ Program Files.

It's a nice application, but in the next releases I'll remove it. :(

DXIA2 is from the official release. DXIA5 may not be legitimate, but you never know.

There is not much difference in these PHONE parts, but i got IB1 from Vodafone, works great in Europe but the users in Singapore report issues, so i go back to DXIA2.

You can just flash the Phone part if you wish guys...

At the end of the day, you get what we give you B)

Keep it up s0cks

Thanks.

About the Pakko's camera: I didn't put it because it's a different camera version... but I didn't test it...
In the next releases I will test it and maybe put inside the ROM! :excl:

This is not true - every omnia has unique touch screen and needs own calibration.

For example applying those settings on my Omnia causes screen decalibration - I have to press screen few pixels above the pixel I really want to touch...

Really?
And why in many forums I found a tweak for changing the registry value?
We have two suggested values (at Favorite Hackings too):

"CalibrationData"="500,500 165,875 165,125 835,125 835,875" -> I'm using this...
"CalibrationData"="519,503 177,881 182,129 847,127 849,872"

But... even if some user got problems using my ROM... he/she can align screen at control panel...

agree with qbus & s0cks

qbus: It works for me....it is the best calibration i have seen. Maybe your Omnia would prefer the other default settings?

s0cks: Good work.

The thing is, not every Omnia is identical, they all perform slightly different, and have slightly different internal parts depending on build date etc.

So it will work for some and not others.

Also, like s0cks says, they can re-align screen in control panel.

That's why I suggest no to put such hacks to ROMs :excl: (good calibration instruction was posted here)....

Digitizer could react different on each device - of course lots of them are equal but not all (like mine).

Hi guys,
Finally I got my first stable CUSTOM ROM. Now I will share with you!

hi s0cks,
I'm glad to see that you managed to cook your own rom, and honestly, I prefer seeing a rom from you in such a thread than the one about the so called "secrets" of rom cookers :excl:
Nice job although I won't try it because I'm killing my boredom with shk16m, qb06m and khuanchai wm6.5 3-in-1 but i do give you credit for your great job!

Keep on doing it bro, and if you bring up something more of my taste i will try it and post comments.
