Hey there

Im from South Africa, my omnia is stuck at the "omnia" loading sceen cuz of a problem during a rom update. Im busy downloading JVHK1 ryt now, will let u know IF i get it running.

p.s. my phones rom is JCHH1, so hopefully this new "south african compatible" rom wont give me any trouble.

It is great also for Turkish omnia owners to be able to download an original JV ROM. Samsung should have done that months ago.

Hello,

I visited Samsung site and downloaded the file for Win XP, it is a 100MB file but up to my surprise it is not an Executable file and I don't know what I should do with it.

I need to perform the update and my current version is JVHH1

Thank you.

It is an exe file, try to redownload it because it is an exact 104,867,328bytes, and the file name is i900JVHK1_upgrader_xp.exe

Try adding an exe and run the file again.

Hello again,
Everything went perfect and the firmware is upgraded but still no support for Arabic Keyboard, very strange from Samsung as this Version "JVHK1" is targeted for the Arabic Region.

Hello,

I know it is an English update, but according to my previous experience with the HTC Tytn II, you may download the ROM in English user interface but you still can deal with Arabic sms, mail and Office documents. So I was expecting something alike from Samsung.

The question now is what is the difference between the JVHH1 and the new JVHK1?

Wish you all Happy New Year

Hi teslation
As for te Arabic Keyboard, I'm using Sunnysoft InterWrite Keyboard with Arabic suite, you can find it at:

AOA khalid . Thanks. Actually my official rom was JVHI1, its battery timing was really bad. After updating to JVHK1, i am feeling it noticebale better. Also the free memory is about 54mb which is a bit more than in JVHI1.

Ehsanuetian

Thank you for the Info, I checked my device's memory status after installing F-Secure Antivirus, Spb Backup and the Sunnysoft InterWrite and the results are very healthy compared to JVHH1: for Storage I got 42.66 MB free memory and 48.49MB for programs

I think I'm going to try to get this one to work. Also from SA. I'm on JBHH1 which is the Vodacom\Vodafone ROM.

OK differences from JBHH1 (vodafone\vodacom rom):

Apps on the rom not on the previous one:
- Google Launcher
- Google Maps
- Shozu.
Themes etc are the same except vodafone rubbish is off. I think one of the today screens are different.
Samsung keyboard has vibration feedback. Don't think it had previously.
Different animations when you tilt the screen.

Not the standard windows mobile task manager. Different one when you press and hold the menu button. Pops up a bunch of Samsung like icons on the bottom half of the screen, but can still end tasks using it. Old Task Manager still available too.

When you press programs from the samsung main menu you don't go to the standard programs screen anymore. You get a finger scrollable list of programs instead.

Internet connection settings not locked down. The vodafone rom had them locked.

In terms of battery/performance I am not sure. Only had my previous rom & phone for a week. So not sure if I will be able to spot anything. Everything still seems more responsive, quicker and nicer than the HTC TYTN II I had before.
