The only real fix that I know of is to have a couple of seconds of your ringtone with no music.

Because this isn't an issue. It's a function that's installed on many modern phones incuding Nokia and i doubt that you can turn it off.

Even worse, you actually have "increasing ring" in the phone options, but Omnia just ignoring it.
Its actually more like a bug.

All of the Samsung phones I've had have worked the same.

Works okay for me. I just need the phone to make a noise loud enough so that I know I am getting a call. Most of the time I see the call before I hear it as it normally is sitting in front of me on the desk.

Don't need fancy musical scores etc... just a ring which is what I use "Classic Bell".

For other alerts, I use Phone Alarm so that I get repeats...

Not a big deal.

well, at least i know its not just me being an idiot now. i thought for sure that i had set it at something and just didn't know it.
but that 'increasing ring' option is annoying as hell since it does that anyway.

Yes some phones has this function and some hasn't. I know that some Nokias have and another company but i can't remember the name now. It's supposed to start quietly so that you won't need a hearing aid in the future.

I know that i like this option because it happens a lot to me and it buged me on my P910i because it was really ear shattering. Even runing out of battery was literaly a pain.

Yes, point is that on WM you supposed to have this little combo box in Phone option, where you can actually choose, if you want increasing ring or not.

It works on every WM device, except Omnia.

Is it just me or is it that My Ringtone is too loud? Someone calls me and it starts 1-2 seconds normally and then gets much louder all of a sudden?

I used Ring as an options in Sounds and Notifications.

When I used "increase Ring" its at least slowly going louder, not jumping from low to loud as normal "Ring" does.

Anoying!

Well there is an easy solution for our problem. Decrease the ring loudnes and you're set.

I suppose what you could do is create a ringtone that is much louder for the first second (or however long the quiet bit is) and then drops down so that when it actually plays as a ringtone it's consistent.

Lot of effort that though!

Is there any official forum of samsung or support where we can address this issue?
