Maybe AppToDate has been ditched as a project, but I've encountered some issues with it which may be worthwhile posting...
  • When selecting applications to download, the check boxes are very unresponsive, sometimes taking 10 or so seconds of tapping them before they finally toggle!
  • The cancel button when downloading XMLs sometimes causes AppToDate to crash (and no error message is displayed).
  • "Free and Fun" no longer does anything at all!
Thanks for AppToDate as it is, but perhaps some updates could solve these issues?

All of these issues are being addressed in an upcoming release (shortly), although Free and Fun has just had it's catalogue emptied rather than it not functioning. B)

Cool.

Any idea of when it'll be released?

Thanks!

it would be great if you could bet developers like SBSH and Webis on board.
i believe that they both expressed interest when the concept was first shared?

Hi Paul,

Just got a HTC Advantage (Athena) X7501 and installed a XDA-Developer AP4 custom ROM with AppToDate as part of the package...

The first time or two I tried using AppToDate it worked OK...but now I just get error message after it checks online for updates. Here's the message:

Quote

Unexpected error....

NullReferenceException
at MoDaCo.[].[]()
at MoDaCo.[].[](Object [], EventArgs [])
at System.Windows.Forms.Form.OnLoad(EventArgs e)
at System.Windows.Forms.Form._SetVisibleNotify (Boolean Vis)
at System.Windows.Forms.Form.Control.set_Visible (Boolean value)
at System.Windows.Forms.Application.Run (Form fm)
at MoDaCo.[].[]()

I used '[]' above in place of the little squares I saw in the message.

Any suggestions as to how to get AppToDate working again. It's such a nice feature to have!

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark,

I'm now also getting exactly the same "unexpected error" message!

How did you cure the problem (assuming you did)?

Such a great product it would be a shame just to uninstall and go back to manual updates!

BTW, I'm running on an XDA Ignito.

Any help greatfully received.

Harvey
