In the midst of the sexy new handset releases hitting at the moment, the new HTC Touch 3G is easily overlooked. However, we all know that the original Touch was a HUGE hit and I know there are a good number of fans of the device here (myself included), so i'm giving it's successor a try courtesy of our friends at devicewire.com!

The Touch 3G fixes the two biggest complaints on the original device, adding GPS and 3G. Full specs are as follows...

- Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
- 528 MHz Processor
- 2.8" QVGA display
- 3G / HSDPA
- GPS and A-GPS ready
- Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR
- WiFi 802.11 b/g
- 3.2 megapixel camera with fixed focus
- 1100 mAh battery
- 256 MB ROM / 192 MB RAM
- 102mm x 53.6mm x 14.5mm
- 96g

The device retails for £333.99 at devicewire.com, with free delivery via our 'FDMODACO' code.

I will be posting a full review in the next week or so, but if you have a question for me in the meantime, then fire away! B)

PS I have the brown one, it's really nice!

I'll ask the obvious one, what's the battery life like?

If you have a chance to test the GPS, especially in terms of lag, I'd be very interested to hear how it performs...

Thanks!

This is one device which I've been keenly anticipating (just waiting for the black model to come out). I'll be upgrading from the original T-Mobile MDA Touch. So I'd be grateful of you could answer the following...

1. What's the screen touch sensitivity like? The MDA required quite a hard press.

2. Is there a pouch or case included in the box?

3. Do you have a feel for s/w compatibility for applications? I would hope to be able to run my copy of TomTom5, but I have about 6 or 7 other apps which I would like to keep.

4. I really tired of the TouchFlo UI on the MDA Touch. I understand it is vastly improved with this model, but just in case I tire of it again, how easy is it to drop back to the old style WM UI?

Many thanks for your time!

Regards,
Toonie.

1. A LOT better, that was a big complaint of mine about the original Touch too.

2. I don't have the full retail package.

3. As a QVGA Pocket PC, compatability will be excellent.

4. Very very easy!

Is the loudspeaker better and louder than the Diamond? In fact is the whole device better than the Diamond? Thanks Paul B)

Many thanks for the replies sofar! I notice in the picture that it's connected to T-Mobile. Are you able to confirm if the roaming bug, which still plagues my MDA Touch is gone from this model? The problem I experience is that the phone 'thinks' it's roaming nearly all the time when I'm within the UK, and therefore not. It's aggravating having a dialogue warning me about it every time I go to check my email.

Thanks,
Toonie.

I ended up buying the Touch 3G in the end. Have been very pleased with it so far.
