OK - had an Omnia for one week now. Love it.

One problem. I have Copilot 6 installed on it - I have used enhanced GPS and thje Omnia can find my location but the map is always 1 mile behind where I actually am!

I can still exhange it for another one - 14 day cooling off etc. WHat I need ti know is this - is it likely to be a faulty Omnia or is the GPS a bit flakey on its GPS?

Thanks

What is the GPS saying with GoogleMaps or Microsoft Live Maps applications? If they are all out then its the GPS, if not, then its the software.

Orange regrets to inform you that their network will be going down in 1 hours time for all users apart from yourself. This is because nothing would go down on you, not even a network!

Google maps is out as well. I have sent the phone back bcs I reckoned it was the GPS that was faulty. Google Maps never found my exact position either.

Has anyone else found Co-pilot works with Omnia well?

Ive found the exact same thing, I used Copilot 6 on my last two phones with no issue, both HTC, just got the omnia and now copilot drops satellites and GPS every 1 to 2 mins and lags about a minute behind. Copilot helpline were next to useless, im still not sure if its the phone, so I may send back. Shame because the phone is excellent in all other respects, but i need it as a sat nav. if i find anything else ill update you.

Ive just tried the external GPS, an original BTGPS that came with copilot 6, it works beautifully, so for the short term ill stick with that, having read other blogs, the only software that appears to work with Omnia is Garmin XT(£35) and IGo8,(£120) both have the disadvantage of a dedicated SD card, so thats all your memory gone. I guess Ill stick with the external as im sure copilot will create a software patch....we can live in hope.

I am running CoPilot 7 on my Omnia and GPS works fine. It may be a problem with WM6.1 as CoPIlot 6 is WM5 compatible whereas CoPilot 7 is WM6 compatible.

Steeg27,
Do you use Copilot 7 without an external GPS receiver and does the voice directions work well? Thanks.
