Can anyone recommend an effective Video Game emulator(s) for the Samsung Omnia i900?

I'm not sure if any one has been succesful installing NES/SNES emulators (ex. Smartgear) on their Omnia i900, but it appears that most emulators I encounter are either: a) unable to recognize the touchscreen with no on-screen buttons or ;) has video/audio sync issues with serious audio lag time.

With all these new advanced smartphones being released, I'm hoping more effective emulators will soon follow. I've seen the I-Phone NES emulator with operational old-school controller buttons, and I must say, that would look great on an Omnia.

P.S. So far, Smartgear seems to work the best, although the rotation feature has a bug in it (it rotates into the wrong direction each time I flip the phone).

Smartgear
Version 1.0.4

ive tried pocket snes and the it has a onscreen controller. Unfortunately it is buggy and you end up going in one directions automatically so the roms are unplayable.

Is there any type of keyboard that you can download which acts as a touch screen controller? Ive tried searching but couldnt find one.

Below is a quick Google Link to the I-Phone Emulator (which would look great on a Samsung Omnia i900):

http://code.google.com/p/iphonenes/

Whomever created that emulator had the right idea...the screen alone looks awesome!

somedude - I'm going to try Pocket SNES...I'm hoping the bugs get fixed shortly.

The iphone onscreen emulator works because, of the multitouch side of the iphone, it wouldnt work with the omnia as its not something it supports

Unfortunately single touch and only a few hardware buttons would make most emulators pretty tough to play. I mean for a NES it could work if you had a dpad on screen and call and end as A and B but most emulators are gonna need more hardware buttons than we have or a configuration that would be impossible to use

I use the GBA emulator on Morphgear. I haven't tried the SNES emulator but the GBA has on screen controls though it takes up about half of the screen. Works good though. I've only tried an RPG game (I forgot the title) but it doesn't lag or anything, just okay.

well we're not talking about emulating xbox or wii here !
most emulators are fine with 2/3 buttons (nintendo/amiga/gameboy/megadrive/pc engine/etc.) ;)

Agree, the screen looks awesome...

Sure hope someone writes a all-in-one emulator for Samsung Omnia.

Haven't seen any updates to PocketNES, PocketSNES, etc., for years.

I've been interested in this idea too (emulators that will work on the omnia)...I've been using SmartGear and I found that the only way I could remap buttons was in landscape mode with the the non-samsung keyboard active...otherwise the buttons would open whatever they were mapped to on the phone...I have the top right hand button (usually goes to today screen) mapped to A, the volume buttons mapped to B, the call button mapped to start and the end call button mapped to select. I use the onscreen tap movement for directional. I play in landscape mode.

It works, but it's not great. I have a feeling it's the best option for the omnia right now, although I've only tested PocketNester, as well.

One issue with the onscreen controller in PocketNester is that since the touchscreen is only single touch capable, when you are moving and hit jump it stops to activate the jump touch. A lot of people have already pointed this out. The problem with SmartGear is that even though movement is the only thing keyed through the touchscreen (in the mapping I've described above) it still hesitates when you hit the A/B buttons (it's possible that if you alter the screen sensitivity it might ameliorate this)...so, it makes some games difficult to play. I'm beginning to think that someone should start a list of games that translate well into the Omnia experience.

I am currently using Morphgear and the GBA emulator. It works great. I use it in conjuncion with a bluetooth gamepad. I get about 3 hours of gameplay :(

You say that but the Omnia can actually emulate Playstation1 extremely well!
Thing is, even the megadrive needs three buttons so you are having to use side buttons which makes it unnatural and difficult to hold and play. SNES needs 6 buttons which is basically all the hardware buttons on the Omnia and that is near impossible to comfortably play.
A bluetooth controller makes emulation a much more realistic prospect though.

Morph Gear's SNES Module works perfectly, sound is all perfectly in sync, though I still prefer to have 3 frame skip u can make it 0 (although to me it doesnt make a big difference).

Actually , we can wait for Android ... it does support multi-touch , then Omnia can play all these games on Android~Isn't that nice?

StarVision, it's actually just wrong.
The Omnia's resistive screen won't support multi touch in any case.
