Using a Dial Up Connection on the BJ1

I'm trying to use the BJ1's Dial Up connection type to connect directly to an Internet ISP to browse the internet on my BJ1. Please note that I am not using a computer at all for this. The BJ1 manual says I can create a Dial Up connection and have that connection used to connect to the internet on the BJ1.
Has anyone successfully done this?
I can create a new connection (the phone number, my id & pswd), but there are no instructions on how to activate this connection.
Can anyone give any insight on this? Thanks!
