For those lucky enough to have got hold of an HTC Touch Diamond, you’ll probably be aware of the shortcomings with the inbuilt G-Sensor and its limited uses with the 'stock' ROM, only working with pre installed applications such as Opera, HTC Album and Teeter.

Well, over on xda-developers, developers seem to be franticly creating applications utilising the new built in G-Sensor to enhance the user experience with the OS, it seems like new programs/updates are popping up each week! :D

For those who maybe haven’t ventured over and are maybe a bit new to all this, here is a roundup of some of the most useful to wet your appetite

GSen by 'SKKV Software'

GSen is a very neat and very lightweight application that extends the automatic screen rotation using the G-Sensor.

When using GSen the auto screen rotate is now present throughout the Windows Mobile Operating System and can be controlled by the applications own configuration utility that is also installed.

Diamond Shaker by 'sushilange'

The Diamond Shaker Application enables G-Sensor navigation within applications.

Currently the Diamond Shaker Application is in an early alpha stage (just for testing) and currently only works within the HTC Album (Portrait mode only) and it allows you to navigate through your images by simply by tipping your device to the right or left! neat! :(

Klaxon by 'Koush'

Klaxon is the first G-Sensor enabled alarm for the HTC Touch Diamond

Another fantastic application that makes it just a little bit easier to wake up on time! :P It’s still just an alpha build for testing but already it’s amazing! Using the built in G-Sensor you can snooze the alarm but simply turning your device over!!! or turn the alarm off by shaking! :P

Profile Switcher by 'sushilange'

Profile Switcher enables the user to switch between 'Volume On' and 'Vibrate' by shaking your device.

Another extremely useful and very configurable application that’s in beta stage, ive only tried this today myself and it seems to work very well! and it wont false trigger when the device is in standby :D

(you can see the icon change in the video.... just)

ShootMe! for HTC devices! by 'PedritoM'

ShootMe! is a very neat shotgun application using the G-Sensor.

GSen in particular seems very good :D

A couple of other suggestions came to mind for any budding G-Sensor developers out there!

My wife's Sony has a couple of neat applications that would lend themselves perfectly to the G-Sensor. Namely,

a) Allow the media player to switch tracks via a shake
:D Some kind of pedometer/step counter

I'd rather see this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dx9aOmaAQq8...feature=related

A friend of mine had this on his Iphone, plus an app that allowed a music Keyboard and drums to be used by the touch screen. Be nice to have this sort of musical thing for teh diamond.

Had some more ideas last night, after playing with the Light Sabre app, silly ones but possibly worth a go at coding?
