Hi, i am looking to upgrade my old sony ericson. i am on orange and i realy like the HTC Touch.

I have looked at the Dual but it does not apeal to me as much as the Touch does.

I just wanted to know:
Does it come with a "Fat-finger" keyboard as standard?
If not where can i downlaod one?

Will i need to do a software unlock so that i can install more stuff on it?
Are their any risks with this?

Is the phone slow. i have read alot of people stating that the phone is slow. what are you running to make it slow or is it just everyday use?

And finaly does the Wi-fi just work by opeing the internet and searching for a Wi-fi spot?

Thanks

The Touch only comes with the regular PPC Keyboard.
You can download the HTC Keyboard and Keypad from XDA Developers (I have and it's quite nice, but takes loads of screen space which makes it harder to know what field you are on when editing a Contact, for example)

You might also like to try PocketCM Keyboard (freeware) which is nice, but the keys aren't much bigger

You might need to software unlock, depends on the branding of the device. Mine was HTC branded and SIM-free so didn't require unlocking. I don't think many PPCs need unlocking, but I could be wrong.

Is the phone slow

IMO no, not at all. I have loads of apps, a large PIM database, and the standard HTC plugin homescreen. I don't have any issues with the speed. Compared to a SIM-free Kaiser I've been testing, which is faster, the difference isn't worth mentioning even.
I was worried about the performance too before I got mine, but honestly - it's fine!

No. You need to enable WiFi when you want to use it (you could leave it on I guess, but your battery life suffer).
If it's on, and you're connected to a Wireless LAN,the device will use WiFi in preference to a GPRS connection.

Ok thanks alot.
Ill be getting it on a orange contract probably. i had to unlock my C500 but i didnt mind doing that
The only thing is the keyboard but i had a look on youtube and have noted down a few keyboards that people have got so that should be cool.
Looks like ill get one of these, i have wanted one since i first saw it. :)

Thanks again
