Hi all,

Just recently bought a HTC touch on Orange UK. I've been trawling through the site picking up on software and everything but i cannot install ANYTHING on the phone. I can even move/delete anything without getting an access denied error. Nothing will go onto the phone through active sync, access denied, and the few .CAB's i have put on via bluetooth just say "installation was not successful". I have tried reg edit.exe but that doesn't even run, something about trusted certificates??! I'm really at the end of my teather now and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

just tried mobile regitry editor and security configuration manager. scm WONT CONNECT AND mre says access denied when i try and change any values

Welcome to the forum :)

You can take the software lock off your phone by using this service :

Tried that already but when i run the file from orange on the phone it just says that installation was unsuccessful

would re-flashing with a different ROM remove all orange restrictions on the device?

I cannot even remove/copy/paste files into different folders without an access denied error?!?

That's a bit drastic but if you flash the phone with a non-Orange ROM then you'll not have the Orange security restrictions. Be sure you know what you're doing though as mistakes can be very costly.

I've never had any trouble with the Orange application unlocking and don't uunderstand why the app wouldn't run. Sure you gave them the right details ? The IMEI number has to include the 2 digits not on the box sticker, for example. You could try a hard reset of the phone and try the unlocker again.

Not sure if it's the same problem i was having, but read through this thread to see if it helps.

Right ive tried re-flashing the device and even this won't work!! It seems that orange have totally locked the device, I cannot even copy file to it without using bluetooth!! does anyone know of a rom install i can do by sending the files via bluetooth to the phone? or ANY suggestion would be a big help!

Thanks
