TheBoyGenius is at it again, this time leaking the 2008 Vodafone roadmap, which includes 3 new Windows Mobile devices!

Display in it's full glory on this page, the roadmap includes the following machines of interest to us Windows Mobile fans:

Palm Wanda - no pics of this one, but it's the supposed replacement for the Treo 750v. Features include 3G / HSDPA, Windows Mobile 6.1, 320x320 screen (!), a QWERTY keyboard (duh!), GPS and *shock* WiFi! A 1500mAh battery underpins the lot. Here's hoping it's sexed up design wise too!

Palm Drucker - looks like the 500v right? Well that's not surprising, because this is it's replacement! It packs the same 'Standard' (aka Smartphone) OS, in it's 6.1 flavour. Expect nothing overly exciting - QVGA display, 2MP camera... but it DOES have GPS. No mention of WiFi however!

HP Silver - the Silver looks to us like a HP take on the SLVR? It's a Smartphone, and it's THIN! It has a 'suretype style' keyboard like the Shadow and the Touch Dual 20 key, and 7.2MB HSDPA, WiFi and GPS. Come to papa.... :D

HP Oak - G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S. Finally a truly desirable new HP device? Here's hoping! It's a Professional (aka Pocket PC) OS based slider, with a QWERTY tucked away as well as a conventional keypad on the front! Hurrah! Again, nice and thin, and packing 7.2MB HSDPA, WiFi and GPS. Fingers crossed the 1010mAh battery can take the strain...

Vodafone ODM v16xx - not a lot of deets on this one, but it's a Vodafone branded device, so we'd stick our necks out and bet on it being an Asus product. Bargain basement pricing is order of the day, which will get you WinMo 6.1 Standard, EDGE (no 3G), a 1.3MP camera and no mention of WiFi... but it DOES have GPS.

It looks like Vodafone have some great devices coming up here, and are definitely putting their feet firmly in the GPS camp :D

Which one takes YOUR fancy?

The Hp Oak is the bottom right picture I am assuming. I take it that it lacks a camera due to it stat sheet? Edit: Also, what about a touchscreen?

Tired of waiting for the Tilt, Kaiser, P4550, 8925, Vario III, TyTn II.

Oak runs WM Professional (ie pocket PC) so it will have a touch screen.

It sure looks good, wonder how similar the final product will be.

I saw this on one of the gadget sites the other day.

The OAK looks great...a suretype style keypad would go down much better though :(

Given that big numeric keypad below, won't the Oak make the Vario II/III seem small?

I was just looking at the design of the Oak, and really admiring its form factor, when I focused upon the keypad arrangement in particular. I looked at the types of physical buttons that they had chosen to accommodate in addition to the number digits, and compared them to the frontage of my MDA Vario III.

I was particularly interested by the location of the call begin/end buttons, and it was as I focused on these that I noticed that there was no directional nav pad. I thought this a little strange - true, some touchscreen devices don't have a navpad or stick, but these are usually omitted on aesthetic consideration, which indicates a general lack of buttons. It seemed odd that they would choose to admit such a useful feature when there are already so many other buttons on the front of the device.

Now, am I the only one seeing a circular groove in the middle of the numeric keypad? Could this possibly be a touch sensitive control pad, as already seen on the HP iPAQ 614c Business Navigator?

Or am I just going slightly mad and imagining things?

Perhaps it's a long shot, but given that we've seen the feature before on another HP device, I think it's a possibility, and if true it would certainly make this device a fantastic choice, particularly when you consider that HP are excellent value products already, offering some good OS additions that are missing in other manufacturers of Windows Mobile phones, as well as decent pricing.

Seems sound reasoning to me!

Checking the Boy Genius site shows that all of the posts regarding this roadmap have suddenly vanished?

Do I smell a cease and desist?
