I wouldn't swap. It doesn't have Windows or OK buttons and is missing the hardware keyboard. I use all of these a lot (well maybe not the start button).

Nice specs, but I'm not so keen on the looks. I think one of the big selling points of the touch was its size and looks, the whole touchflo interface is nice but it really needs the uncomplicated, curvy "one piece" looks of the original touch to show it off best. The touch cruise looks more angular by comparison, and the front looks like it just has a metal plate (with possibly a sheet of glass for the digitizer) stuck to it.

Not sure if the O2 Orbit II would be the same. It seems to have similar specs (incliding TouchFlo) but does look much nicer!

I'm really torn between this and the Touch Dual. I like the hardware keyboard and the form factor of the Touch Dual but I really really like the inbuilt GPS of this. Decisions decisions!

No start / ok or softkeys sucks a bit, but then I suppose you're just supposed to 'touch' it ;)

This is exactly what I have been waiting for to upgrade from my SPV M700 (Trinity). Any idea if it will be available on Orange, and if so when??

Just had a look at the specs on the HTC website and the battery times are a bit confusing. According to HTC you get 450 hours standby on UTMS and 400 hours GSM standby, what's up with that? Comparing battery times with the TyTN II this is what you get according to HTC.

Touch cruise:
1350 mAh rechargeable Lithium-ion battery

Standby time:
Up to 450 hours for UMTS
Up to 400 hours for GSM
Talk time:
Up to 4 hours for UMTS
Up to 7 hours for GSM
Up to 2.3 hours for video call

TyTN II:
1,350 mAh rechargeable Li-polymer battery

Standby time:
Up to 350 hours for UMTS
Up to 365 hours for GSM
Talk time:
Up to 264 minutes for UMTS
Up to 420 minutes for GSM
Up to 120 minutes for video call

Considering that its all mostly identical hardware (give or take a keyboard and FM radio here and there), why the different run times apart from GSM talktime?

Was also waiting for this one but not too sure now. I loved the Artemis looks/ size, this looks a fair bit bigger, guess I'll wait to see some side by side shots.

I also agree, the O2 version looks waaaaayyyyy nicer.

  • Interests:The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

guys, these are some sort of unreal pictures. i am quite sure the phone will look muuuuch nicer in reality. once we have (maybe there are already) livepics, we will change our minds. but yes, if the specs of this device would have been packed into the original touch..in red or green...oh man, that would have been the perfect christmas gift!!!!

oh, i found this>

i really looks much nicer than on the pics. and the scroll wheel is amazing!!
