Got a Toshiba G900 Pocket PC? Have a problem waking it up from sleep? Then be happy... Toshiba have done the decent thing and issued a patch! :)

The patch, available immediately from the Toshiba site...

Toshiba said:

...is designed to resolve the issue of G900 devices failing to return to standby mode from deep sleep mode correctly, which some users have experienced and should only be installed by those who’ve encountered this specific problem.

This patch can be installed onto your G900 either from an SD card or from the phone’s memory.

Before installing the patch please ensure that your battery is at least half charged and whilst installing the patch please remember not to turn your phone off.

You will need to first unzip the patch before installing it as it is not possible to install the zip file directly onto your G900.

Please see the readme.txt file for full instructions on how to apply the patch.

N.B Once installed the patch will be deleted if you perform a master reset on your G900.

A snoop around by yours truly reveals it updates the following files...

- ms2_usbfn.dll
- Finger.dll
- mainstoneii_pwrbutton.dll
- sdhc_mainstoneii.dll
- nvd.dll
- touch.dll

Definitely not a straightforward fix then!

:P

Judging from accounts on eXpansys, not a fix at all. Definitely one device to avoid for now. And you thought Eten were bad :)

Could be a bit quiet in there...

The patch doesn't work and there are many other reason to not buy this device.
The first is you must resend the Toshiba G900 to make a ROM upgrade.
Totally unacceptable!

Take a look at Expansys forum...
