Hi guys!
I bought a samsung blackjack and unlocked it. I bought it from cingular and i´m using it in sweden with Tele2Comviq. The problem is that my phone never switch to 3G network. I have a Nokia N73 which it works on but not in this one. I´ve tried that code to change the band to only UMTS but it doesnt work...
any ideas?

Thanks

I know why now, it seems USA has another UMTS network frequency, ofcourse... This sucks, anybody wants to buy a brand new Samsung blackjack, unlocked with 1gb memory? $400.

I really like the look and form of the Samsung Blackjack but living in the countryside in England we cannot get a 3G signal and it looks like we never will. I have a SP5 and I am staying with that as WiFi hotspots seem to be on the increase worldwide. My next upgrade will be the O2 graphite if it becomes available sim unlocked somewhere. The spec on this device is amazing having WiFi and 3G (see elsewhere in this forum for full details) :)

hello

samsung blackjack i607 does not support 3G or 3G+ (HSPDA)...
samsung i600 (or i600V) does !

that's the risk you get with buying phones from the US... in fact, they are 2 years ahead of Europe !

;) :D

Well not really. Most of the time the GSM and UMTS phones sold in the US are behind Europe. The BlackJack was an exception.

But actually it does support 3G and HSDPA but on 1900 MHz which Cingular / AT&T is using in the US. So it doesn't work with the European 2100 MHz band.

No you can't, the European i600 only supports the 2100Mhz band, the USA is 1900Mhz (cingular).
