Umm, at the time, the op was correct ( Nov '06) The 'free' method became 'available' Mar '07 ( and common sense would suggest you try the ' I'm going overseas' method with ANY providor locked phone before paying for an unlock code!) and it's now July '07. Any reason for flaming over an old thread, accurate at the time?
