This seems to be just the thing i'm looking for as my new toy. Will it work with the C500, from the look of some of your pics there is does but i just wanna be sure.

From the original posting, it seems that it will only work on E200 until someone finds a BT fix for C500.

Only problem is.......  My next phone is likely to be the MPx,  will this app work on a pocket pc mobile edition.  Doubt it, but worth a try.

No, for PPC devices inc PPC Phone edition then you need TomTom Navigator 3 PocketPC.

I assume you can still add sped camera POIs the same as you can in the other versions of TomTom...?

Yes, and better still, TT Mobile comes with built-in POI alert functionality so you can select which POIs to monitor (e.g. our Safety Camera POI) and then assign an alarm to it as well as distance before POI to alarm etc. TT give you a large choice of pretty naff sound files though but it's nice and simple to use and works well.

From the screen shots it seems it does work on the C500.
The screen shots are from the the E200 and the C500. take a closer look.

It does NOT currently work with the BT GPS on a C500, you will notice that none of the screen shots in navigation mode are from the C500 only shots of route planning and other activities which do not require active commiunication with the GPS receiver.

Goodness - that looks so tempting. How does it interact with a BT Headset? Are the instructions fed through to it; does full phone functionality still work (especially through the BT Headset - insofar as it works on a E200!)?

I've not tested a BT Headset as I do not own one but the phone
is still fully functional as a phone :)

Does co-pilot work with non-gps receivers. If so which is the best (functionality and price)? The fortuna seems good but it is about £114 (plus say co-pilot @ £130 = £224. About the same as co-pilot with its own GPS receiver).

Any advice anyone???

Non-GPS Receivers!! There wouldn't be much point :) Yes CoPilot will work with other BT GPS Receivers and indeed with wired GPS Mice on the E200. The Fortuna ClipOn is a good choice and better than the CoPilot receiver as it has a user replaceable battery and XTrac.

What is the Issue with the C500 and BT GPS receivers?

Why will tomtom not work with the fortuna?

Quick question - how big is the GPS reciever, and does it run off batteries?

In other words, will I be able to stash it in a jacket pocket, or backpack and continue navigating on foot (such as when you're trying to get somewhere which isn't reachable directly by car?)

Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!

CoPilot's BT GPS is the Emtac, it wille asily fit in a pocket. Size is 53(L) x 94(W) x 16(H) mm and yes it contains an internal rechargeable battery.

CoPilot has a pedestrian mode for walking (this then ignores 1 way streets etc) which should work well for your purposes.

See our review of CoPilot's BT GPS at http://www.pocketgps...opilotbtgps.php .

At the moment the BT is detected by the phone but will not work with the
application. This is being worked on at the moment so expect a fix soon.

@ benjymous
Regarding your GPS question, the same applies to TomTom's GPS unit it's smaller than the C500 and the batteries last a long time without being recharged. Unfortunately there is not a pedestian mode.

TomTom Mobile uses BlueTooth connection that the E200 has.
It comes preinstalled on an mmc card.
